Grand House | Three Years at Objective

  • Objective Gallery 133 Sichuan M Rd, 5F Huangpu Shanghai 200086 China (map)

"Home" is the place that is most intimate related to us. The objects in it reflect the relationship between the owner and the world. and it embodies the owner's emotions and memories. Whether it is the wunderkammer of European nobles or the cultural relics and antiques in traditional Chinese mansions, Every home is a museum defined by its inhabitants. Each object in your home carries a special meaning, It is an emotional attachment and shapes our lives.

It has been three years since the establishment of Objective Gallery, and our gallery space has moved from a Shanghainese villa to a historical bank building on the bund. In the past three years, Objective Gallery has participated in 12 art fairs at home and abroad, cooperated and represented more than 60 artists, and left our footprints in Basel, New York, Miami, Capri Island, and other places. In these different spatial contexts, We discuss the relationship between space, objects, and people, and we cooperate with several art galleries to present paintings, photography, sculptures, and installations, blurring the boundaries between art and design.

Reflecting on the past fourteen exhibitions, we have presented a diverse range of artworks and invited audiences to explore the unique expressions of creators from different countries.

These exhibitions have explored craftsmanship, materials, concepts, and forms, challenging the definitions of art, design, and craftsmanship. We have witnessed the blurring of boundaries and tried to spark people's interest in "functional art" and "collectible design."

The circular exhibition platform in the gallery corresponds to the initial "O" of Objective, The circular structure represents the endless cycle. The visitor route, based on the timeline and guided by objects, presents various artworks from past to present exhibitions in an open manner。

At the end of this year, we will embark on a new journey in a new space, continuing to explore from a fresh perspective, bridging the gap between art and design, and bringing these independent works closer to our lives.
