Cohabitations
“We are not alone.
Living together on this planet, humanity forges relationships with the myriad creatures that share it; at home, people cultivate secret intimacies with others and objects; together in a body, our splintered selves strive to realize an inspired equilibrium.”
The show marks the creation of an alternative ecosystem of functional sculpture – from geologies and topographies to flora and fauna. Cohabitations seeks to capture the dynamism of these intersections – each element enriching the voice of the other, amplifying the other’s individuality even while remaining codependent for their form or structure. All of the works contain two or more distinct elements that intersect, overlap, and interact with each other – giving birth to something that is neither one nor the other, and often even more than the combination of the two.
