“‘Everybody Knows’ explores the unsettling of throne chairs, symbols of power reflecting the dark times in which we live. A cabinet on the back distorts the authority, introducing an absurd, domestic element, the copper back features cracks that reveal light when the door is opened, inspired by Leonard Cohen’s quote “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in,” this metaphor suggests that even in darkness, beauty emerges – imperfections and fractures become openings for light and possibility. Through forced perspective, the piece plays with perception, reinforcing themes of distortion, authority, and resilience.”
